Piastri Fastest in Imola, Verstappen P2

Oscar Piastri took Pole position at the Emilia-Romagna qualifying as Verstappen was unable to match the Australian’s time by just over 3 hundredths of a second, having to settle for second on the grid for tomorrow’s race. Completing the second row was the Mercedes of George Russell and Piastri’s teammate Lando Norris, followed by a sensational performance from Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso that put him in P5. The two Williams, Sainz and Albon followed the Spaniard, and it was Stroll, Hadjar, and Pierre Gasly to round off the top 10.
