Verstappen Goes Fastest with Piastri Second Ahead of Lights Out in Jeddah

Max Verstappen drove a phenomenal lap around the Jeddah Corniche Circuit to take pole position ahead of the Grand Prix which could mark a huge turning point for the tightly-packed championship standings. Oscar Piastri managed to place his McLaren in a solid P2 behind the Dutchman. Behind him was George Russell, who received the worse end of the stick in the close three-way battle for pole position. The Ferrari of Charles Leclerc and the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli followed him, with the two drivers being the final ones to put it in the 1:27s. Rounding off the top 10 in this session was Sainz, Hamilton, Tsunoda, Gasly, and Norris, who failed to set a Q3 lap time following his incident into the barriers at the start of Q3.
